Diese Anleitung gibt es vorerst nur auf Englisch. Die deutsche Version folgt.

MindDuck runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android; an iOS version will come later. It is the same app everywhere: data and settings are the same on all platforms.

Installers are published on the downloads page of mindduck.app. Beta versions are visible to beta members after they sign in to the site with their email.

After installing, sign in inside the app as well, through Settings → Account → Sign in, with the same email. Signing in on the site to download the installer does not connect the app by itself. See Account.

Windows

Run the installer. If Windows shows a SmartScreen window, click More info, then Run anyway.

macOS

  1. Open the .dmg file and drag MindDuck into Applications.
  2. The first time, open MindDuck from the context menu: right-click (or Control-click) → Open, then Open again in the dialog.

If macOS doesn't open the app, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to the message about MindDuck.

Linux

Make the AppImage executable first:

chmod +x MindDuck-*.AppImage
./MindDuck-*.AppImage

The .deb package installs with your usual package manager.

Android

  1. Download the .apk file and open it.
  2. Allow installing from the browser or file manager you open it with. If Play Protect asks, choose Install anyway.

The app includes a model for local search, so it takes up noticeable space.

Updates

MindDuck checks for new versions itself and shows a MindDuck … is available window with a Download button. Install the new version over the old one: your workspace stays where it is. See Updates.
