Diese Anleitung gibt es vorerst nur auf Englisch. Die deutsche Version folgt.

This is where AI services and search services are connected and jobs are split between models. Keys and settings are encrypted in the workspace and sent only to the service they belong to. How to connect the first service: Connecting models.

The screen has four tabs.

Chat

Connections to AI services. The Connections block is the same as in the Model step on Overview: the list of connections and a form for choosing a service.

  • Add another service: connect one more service.
  • Choose a connection in the list to see its state.
  • Model for new chats: the connection's model for new messages.
  • Check and reload models: check the key and refresh the list of models.
  • Test selected model: a short paid request to the chosen model.
  • Replace key: replace the key.
  • Use by default: make the connection the main one for new chats.
  • Remove: delete the connection together with its key.
  • Advanced settings: Profile name (the connection's name) and Server address. Changes apply after Check and reload models.

Under the list, for the selected connection:

  • Model web search: Web access mode: Off or Automatic (recommended). See Web search.
  • Model details: context size, price per million tokens, the model's capabilities and where this information comes from. Prices are approximate, see What it costs.

Context size

MindDuck determines by itself how much text fits into the model. If the value is wrong, set it in Advanced model limits → Manual override; Use automatic returns the automatic value.

Dictation

The speech recognition model for voice input. See Voice input.

Service

The background model: chat titles, summaries and topics.

  • Service model: the service and model. Choose an inexpensive one: there are many requests.
  • Run tasks: Automatically or Only when requested.
  • Summary threshold, tokens: after how long a conversation its older part is compressed into a summary.

Details: Background model.

Web search

Fallback search for models without a built-in one: Wikipedia (works right away), Brave, Tavily, Exa (you need your own key). Paste the key and click Test and save.
