Updates

At launch MindDuck checks whether a new version is out. If there is a new version for your platform, a MindDuck … is available window appears:

• Download: download the installer from mindduck.app; if there are several for your platform, the site's downloads page opens;
• Later: remind me later;
• Skip this version: don't remind me about this version.

Download the installer and install it over the current version, as on the first install (see Installation). Your workspace isn't affected.

What is sent when checking

The app's version number, the platform (Windows, macOS and so on) and the system language, so that the description of the new version arrives in your language. If you're signed in (Settings → Account), the check also tells the site which device this is: that's how beta members are offered beta versions too. As with any request, the site sees your IP address.

Beta versions

If you have a beta place, MindDuck checks both stable and beta versions and offers the newer one. Download downloads the beta build right from the app; you don't need to sign in to the site for this. When the beta ends, MindDuck offers only stable versions again.

Controls

On the Account screen, next to your access, you see:

• Version → Check: check whether there is a new version; if one is found, the button turns into Download …;
• You receive: which versions you're offered: stable, or stable and beta;
• Updates included until: until what date updates are included in your license, if there is such a date.

Refresh in the Last checked row checks your access to the app, and Check in the Version row checks for new versions. To get beta builds you need to sign in inside the app itself, even if you're already signed in on the site.

On the Support screen, in the Updates block:

• Check for updates automatically: turn checking on or off;
• Check now: check right away.

All devices on one version

If you update one device and leave another on an old version, some changes may not sync until the old one is updated. MindDuck warns you about this on the Devices screen. Update MindDuck on all devices.
