Chat settings
In the Chat settings window:
- Chat title and Save: rename the chat. The background model won't replace your own title.
- Keep out of memory / Return to memory: make the chat private or return it to memory. See Private chats.
- Copy link: copy a link to the chat to paste it into a document. See Links to chats and documents.
- Export: save the chat into a readable HTML folder. See Export.
- Describe images for search: describe the chat's images for search, usually for imported conversations. See Image descriptions.
- Move to Trash: move the chat to the trash.
Project
A chat can be moved into a project:
- in the Chat settings window or in the chat details (click the chat title in the header), choose the project in Move to project;
- or drag the chat onto the project in the sidebar.
There you can also create a new project (Create new project) or take the chat out of a project (No project). About projects: Projects.
Link to a message
Every message has a Copy link to message button: it copies a link to that place in the conversation. Paste it into a document, and the link will take you straight back to the message.
Trash
A chat in the trash is kept for 30 days and then deleted for good. Until then you can bring it back: open it and click Restore, or find it in the trash. While a chat is in the trash, you can't write in it.
Delete a message
Every message has Delete message. Deletion is final: the text and attachments are erased, and a short Message deleted by you note stays in its place so the flow of the conversation isn't broken.
In the confirmation window:
- Also delete the following assistant response: delete the assistant's answer to this message as well;
- Facts saved from the messages being deleted: facts remembered from these messages. The checked ones are deleted completely. The unchecked ones stay, but are marked as having a deleted source.
Deletion removes the message from search too, and from other devices after sync.
