This is where you manage the devices of the workspace: which of them receive its changes. The devices of your MindDuck account, which take places under your license, are managed separately: Settings → Account → Devices & billing opens your account on the site. See Account.

Device name

A clear name such as "Home MacBook" helps you avoid mistakes when you need to revoke access. Devices → Device name, then Save device name.

Device list

The Workspace devices block on the Devices screen lists all devices of this workspace: platform and last activity. The current one is marked This device.

Revoke a device

If a device is lost, sold or no longer needed:

  1. Click Revoke device next to it and confirm.
  2. Click Sync now so the change reaches the others.

Revoking closes access to new changes, but doesn't erase what is already on the device.

Revoke device doesn't free a place in your MindDuck account. If the device is lost or sold, also disconnect it in your account on mindduck.app. Disconnecting it in the account, in turn, doesn't revoke its access to workspace sync. Neither action erases data already stored on the device.

  • Revoked by mistake: click Reapprove device on any active device and sync both.
  • Remove from the list: Remove from list for one device or Remove all revoked devices for all revoked ones.

Warnings

  • Some devices have not synced in a while: the device hasn't been opened for more than a month. Open MindDuck on it or revoke it.
  • Fact and project sync is blocked: one of the devices has a version that is too old. Update it or revoke it.

Danger zone

At the bottom of the Sync & backup screen there are two actions that can't be undone. Use them only if you understand why, for example on support's advice.

Erase data in Drive (Start sync over from this device) deletes the workspace's data from Google Drive; everything stays on this device. Then Sync now uploads the workspace from this device again. Close MindDuck on your other devices before this. If the cleanup was interrupted, click Resume cleanup.

Delete local workspace (Remove this device from the workspace) deletes the workspace from this device and returns MindDuck to its first launch. Nothing is deleted in Drive. First make sure the data is on another device or in a backup.
