All settings are collected in one Settings section. It opens with the Settings button at the bottom of the sidebar. Each subsection has navigation to the others at the top, so you can move between them without going back to the menu.

Subsection Route What's there
Overview #/setup Checklist: model, sync, devices, memory, recovery code. See First launch
Models #/providers Connections to AI services, models, background model, speech recognition, web search. See Models
Assistant #/settings Personal instructions, memory, page reading, model work display, text size. See Assistant
MCP Connections #/mcp External tools, permissions and choice per chat; this device only
Folders #/folders All folders the assistant works with: project folders, shared folders for chats without a project and folders opened in individual chats; which chats a folder is open in. See Project folders
Sync & backup #/workspace Sync and periodic checks, Sync diagnostics, search data transfer (Shared search data), recovery code, export, backups, Danger zone. See How sync works
Devices #/devices This device's name (Device name), connecting a new device (Add a device), the device list, revoking access. See A second device and Managing devices
Account #/account Signing in to your mindduck.app account, your access (beta, trial, license), Refresh to check access, Devices & billing for your account on the site, the version and available updates, signing out. See Account
Support #/support Diagnostics, sync log, updates. See Support

Besides Settings, the menu at the bottom of the sidebar has Import history (import from ChatGPT and Claude, see Import), Support and Close workspace to close the workspace.

Account is available even when the workspace is closed. Signing in to it doesn't open the workspace on another device and doesn't connect Google Drive: those are separate actions in Sync & backup and Devices.

What applies only to this device

Most settings are stored in the workspace and sync to all devices. Exceptions are marked on this device only:

  • interface and text size (Assistant → Size and spacing);
  • periodic Google Drive checks (Check Google Drive while this app is open on Sync & backup); while you're active the check runs about every 30 seconds, while idle every 5 minutes;
  • automatic update checks (Support → Updates);
  • MCP connections, secrets, permissions and the choice of connections per chat (MCP Connections).
